1. Dos & Don’ts when involved in a car accident.
Dos:
• Stay calm. Check if any party is injured. If there are any serious injuries, call 995/999 immediately.
• If the vehicles don’t obstruct the traffic, take photos of the accident scene, damaged vehicles, the surroundings and the position of the vehicles with your hand phone or digital camera before they were moved. Please check
  safety before you get off the car.
• Move the vehicles involved away from flow of traffic after taking all photos of the accident scene. (e.g roadside)
• Note down all number plates of involved vehicles & particulars of drivers and witnesses, if any.

 

Don’ts:
• Get into a heated argument with other parties involved.
• Discuss liability with parties involved in the accident at the instance.
• Hit & run.

 

2. Information to take note
• Date & time.
• Location.
• Particular of witnesses (if any).
• Damages and positions of vehicles involved.
• Weather and road conditions during accident.

 

3. Under the Motor Claim Framework (MCF) regulation, please go to you insurer’s reporting centre to lodge an accident report within 24 hours or by the next working day.

 

4. If there are only minor damages to both vehicles and both parties agreed to settle privately, they may proceed to their preferred workshop to get the necessary arrangement to do a private settlement. At Excel Car Service Centre, we also provide private settlement for our customers that are involved in an accident.
